Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how GramevO accesses, collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes information when people use the GramevO mobile app and related services.
1. Information GramevO may collect
The exact information depends on the features a user chooses to use.
- Account and profile information: phone number, name, role, village, mandal, district, skills, profile photo, and other profile details.
- Job and worker information: job posts, applications, worker availability, work requests, work location, wages, ratings, reviews, and related status information.
- Property information: property listings, area, price, location, photos, boundaries, contact details, and listing status.
- Meeting and community information: meeting details, invited ward-member names and phone numbers entered by organisers, attendance, questions, issues, evidence photos, answers, and meeting links.
- Location information: approximate or precise location and selected map locations when a location-based feature is used and permission is granted.
- Photos and files: profile photos, property photos, issue evidence, completion evidence, and other files a user chooses to upload.
- Voice and language information: selected language and speech converted to text when voice features are used. Raw audio is not intentionally retained by GramevO unless a feature clearly says otherwise; device or platform speech-recognition services may process audio to provide transcription.
- Communications and support information: support requests, messages, notifications, delivery status, and communication logs required to provide app support or meeting communications.
- Technical and usage information: Firebase identifiers, device or messaging tokens, security logs, crash information, feature-use logs, and AI/RAG usage logs when those features and logging are enabled.
2. Why the information is used
- To create and manage accounts using phone authentication.
- To match workers, employers, jobs, properties, meetings, and village services.
- To display user-created listings and information to the intended audience.
- To provide maps, directions, location selection, reminders, notifications, calls, SMS, WhatsApp, meeting links, and live-stream features where enabled.
- To provide voice-based form filling, language support, Firestore search, and AI assistance where enabled.
- To prevent fraud, investigate abuse, secure accounts, troubleshoot problems, and improve app reliability.
- To respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests.
3. Information visible to other users
Some information is intentionally shared through app features. For example, job posts, worker profiles, property listings, meeting details, ratings, and contact options may be visible to relevant GramevO users. Users should not post sensitive information that is not necessary for the selected feature.
4. Service providers and data sharing
GramevO does not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed by service providers only as needed to operate selected features, including:
- Google Firebase: authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, notifications, hosting, and related security or diagnostics.
- Google Maps Platform: maps, places, geocoding, location selection, and directions.
- Google Calendar, Google Meet, and YouTube APIs: only when authorised organisers use meeting-link or live-stream features.
- MSG91 or other communication providers: SMS, voice, or WhatsApp communications when those options are enabled.
- AI service providers: limited text required to provide AI assistance when Full AI features are enabled by GramevO administration and used by a user.
- Device and platform services: speech recognition, text-to-speech, camera, gallery, phone, browser, and notification services used at the user’s request.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to protect users and the service, to investigate abuse, or during a lawful business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards.
5. Permissions
GramevO may request permissions such as location, microphone, camera/photos, notifications, and phone-related actions only when required for a feature. A user may deny or revoke permissions through device settings, although some related features may then be unavailable.
6. Security
GramevO uses safeguards such as HTTPS connections, Firebase Authentication, Firestore and Storage security rules, role-based access controls, server-side Cloud Functions for sensitive operations, and administrative controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect access to their phone and OTP messages.
7. Data retention
Personal data is retained while an account is active and for as long as needed to provide requested services. Some logs, backups, completed shared records, fraud-prevention information, dispute records, or legally required records may be retained for a limited period. Where practical, personal identifiers are removed or replaced with a “Deleted User” reference when a shared record must remain for another user, security, dispute resolution, or legal purposes.
8. Account and data deletion
Users can permanently delete their GramevO account from within the app:
Users who cannot access the app can submit a deletion request through the public GramevO Account Deletion page. Identity or phone ownership must be verified before an external request is completed.
Deletion removes or anonymises associated personal data as appropriate. Temporary deactivation is not treated as account deletion.
9. User choices
- Review or update profile information through the app.
- Control device permissions through device settings.
- Delete the account through the app or request deletion through the public deletion page.
- Contact GramevO regarding access, correction, privacy, or deletion questions.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when GramevO features, service providers, laws, or data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes may also be communicated in the app.
11. Contact
This page is intended to describe the current GramevO implementation. It should be reviewed whenever app permissions, SDKs, communication providers, AI features, payment features, or data handling change.
